Senior Advisor to COP26

Steve Martineau coordinated key contributions to the Glasgow Climate conference COP26 in November 2021 on behalf of the UN-mandated High Level Champions. He was their co-lead for systems transformation, overseeing sector teams that support the engagement of non-state actors in the UN’s Framework Convention on Climate Change.

He spent most of his career in the telecommunications sector. While Chief of Staff at the global mobile industry association, GSMA, he was the senior sponsor for the industry’s climate action programme.
